Today we are going to build Simple DIY NiCd NiMh Rechargeable battery Charger. This is a small circuit which can be used to charge rechargeable Nickel cadmium batteries in need. When you are at a remote location or somewhere where you cannot get a charger for your AA or AAA rechargeable battery you can build this circuit.
Need for Charger
Like normal batteries rechargeable batteries also lose their charge and are unable to operate our devices. So to reuse those rechargeable batteries, we need to recharge them. As a result of which we need a charger which can recharge the batteries.
Why we need this DIY NiCd NiMh Rechargeable battery Charger?
Sometimes we are in a situation when we are unable to get a charger for our rechargeable batteries or while traveling we forget to carry our charger with us. In those cases buying a new charger is an option which is costly. The other option which we have is to build DIY charges which we can use temporarily to charge a battery. It’s easy to build with few components in no time.
Components required
You can easily get components listed below at any electronic shop for building DIY NiCd NiMh Rechargeable battery Charger and use it for charging the NiMh NiCd rechargeable battery.
- Transistor: BC 547 or 548 – 1 piece
- Resistance:
- 10k – 2 pieces
- 1K – 1 piece
- 22 Ohms – 1 piece
- Led: Green or Red – 1 piece
- Diode: IN4007 – 1 piece
- Old mobile charging cable with USB type A working
- Old earphone Magnets – 2 pieces
